AWAVES: LISTEN TO THE ATLANTIC
Atlantic Waves for Advancing Visionary, Equitable and Sustainable Tourism and Heritage
AWAVES’ is a European cooperation project funded by the ‘Interreg Atlantic Area’ programme 2021–2027 and led by the Provincial Council of Pontevedra (Deputación de Pontevedra) aimed at recovering, promoting and disseminating the maritime cultural heritage of the Atlantic area, particularly its intangible aspects linked to memory, traditions and the identity of coastal communities.
Through digital innovation, citizen participation and cooperation among European regions, ‘AWAVES’ promotes a model of sustainable cultural tourism based on the connection between heritage, territory and community, reinforcing the Atlantic identity as a driving force for social, cultural and economic development.
