ACTIONS

The actions of the ‘AWAVES’ project are organised into various work packages, which outline the main lines of action for identifying, promoting and disseminating maritime heritage in the Atlantic area, combining research, digital innovation, citizen participation and new cultural experiences linked to the sea.

WORK PACKAGE 1: Mapping Atlantic heritage. Cartography and 'living memory'

The aim of this work package is to identify, document and highlight the maritime cultural heritage of the Atlantic area, particularly the less visible or intangible heritage linked to collective memory, traditions and knowledge shared by coastal communities.

Through digital tools and interactive resources, 'AWAVES' will promote new ways of recording, preserving and disseminating Atlantic maritime heritage, facilitating access to knowledge and contributing to pass it on to future generations.

Main activities:

  • Creating a digital archive of collective memory (Atlantic memorial wall).
  • Designing an interactive digital platform for documenting and accessing heritage.
  • Identifying and recording elements of the Atlantic maritime cultural heritage.
